Immersion technology is the future of BTC mining and data centers in general. We hope to have a beta mine with 8 ASIC units immersed in the spring of 2022 with a goal of having at least 96 ASIC's immersed by year end. The cost associated with switching over will likely be in the $1,000 - $1,500 range but could be more as prices continue to inflate in the overall economy. Theoretically, we will be able to over clock the machines as much as 100% (probably end up closer to 75% for stability) which will essentially double your mining rewards once you get started. We will keep you posted as to when we will be able to offer you immersion and will get a video posted to visually explain the process as well.

If you are already on an exchange you already have a software wallet you can utilize to receive your rewards from BTCU. If you would like to set up a software, or hot, wallet outside of your exchange account we recommend Electrum. It is free to download and easy to use after a quick orientation. BTCU members like yourself are able to reach out to Wayne and he will walk you through the process. Email Wayne and the two of you can set up a time to get your hot wallet online. He can also help with setting up a hard, or cold, wallet which allows you to save all of your crypto offline. We are also working on a software / hardware video as we speak and will let you know as soon as we launch it.

Thank you for your question - paragraph 14 would come into play with current ASIC's if the price of BTC fell precipitously and / or the price of electricity rose dramatically. With older technology, this decision happens more often. If the ASIC is mining less in USD value daily then it's cost to operate, BTCU will alert you and you will have the option to continue mining and pay the difference or pause your mining until it became profitable to mine again. Often, when the price of BTC recedes from new highs you will see lots of miners drop off their respective pools and network difficulty fall as unprofitable S-9's (and other older ASICs) are pulled from the network. This scenario shouldn't play out with the S19jPro's we are mining with today however this type of situation plays out consistently with classic S9's and other older miners (several generation old equipment / usually 5 years or more) wherein the older technology will only be profitable when BTC reaches a more elevated price level. When that magic number is met (each machine has a different magic number based on wattage / hash rate), thousands of S-9's (and other older ASICs) jump back online and network difficulty again rises.
